What Malice Says: Q&A With BBW Model Malice In Wonderland

Hearing from BBW models never ceases to put me in a good mood.  I don't doubt that modeling as a profession is hard word -- you are constantly in the public eye, receiving judgement and being picked apart by thousands of people you've never even met, and sometimes more so by those you have.  I'm sure it's difficult for any model, but I imagine being a plus-size or BBW model is even more difficult.  Not only are in the public eye, not only are you being picked apart, but you are also being criticized for being different -- for looking different than the image that many people are comfortable with, such as the quotidian size 2 supermodel.  Ms. "Malice in Wonderland" here models for VaVaVoom BBW's along with Ms. Iona Starr whom I had the pleasure of speaking with a few weeks ago.  Her confidence and love for her work is evident.  If she is ever put down for her size or unique look you'd never know it.  Though I haven't met Malice in person, her drive and confidence are apparent through her words.  Here is what she had to say about her career, her sexuality and her big, beautiful and bold life:

Q: What are your experiences with weight/body image? Have you always been plus-size?  Have you struggled being bigger?  How did you become confident being bigger?

A: Growing up I was around family members who were all bigger, it was never a big deal to me until I got older and I saw that society had a problem with plus-sized individuals. I have not always been plus-size; I started gaining slowly when I was about 13 due to life changes. I was in a car accident when i was 14, thus gaining more weight due to mobility issues. I do have some difficulties due to being bigger but I deal with them the best I can. I became confident by not caring what too many people think as long as I'm happy in my own skin.  That's all that matters.  I only have one body so I might as well enjoy it.

Q: What made you decide to become a BBW model? When did you start your career and how have you enjoyed it thus far?

A: An online friend brought it to my attention when I was 18, stating that I would be a good candidate for a site they knew of.  I was nearly 19 when I first began modeling, and I've been in and out of modeling since then. I enjoy modeling and being able to be creative with my content.

Q: What inspired the name "Malice" in Wonderland?

A: When I was younger I dated a backyard wrestler. I was supposed to manage him and needed a name; a friend of mine came up with the name but I never got the opportunity to use it. So when I was searching for a model name "Malice" was a first choice. The "in Wonderland" just became more of a nickname because of Alice.

Q: Who are some of your favorite plus-size celebrities/models/BBW models?

A: My fav plus size/bbw women/models would be Sara Ramirez from Grey's Anatomy, BBW models Reenaye Starr and Luna Love, and plus-size model Tess Munster.

Q: What are some of your favorite things about being a BBW?

A:  I love showing curves!

Q: Do you get any backlash from people like nutritionists/doctors/health nuts who think being big is unhealthy? If so, how do you respond?

A: Not really, the most I've heard is that I have slightly high blood pressure, which I blame on white coat syndrome a.k.a. anxiety of doctors lol.

Q: Do you consider yourself plus-size, BBW or SSBBW? What do you think is the different between just being plus-size or being a BBW/SSBBW (super-sized big beautiful woman)?

A: I consider myself all the above.  According to some I am a BBW while to others I'm an SSBBW.  The difference to me is the size of the individual.  A larger BBW would be considered an SSBBW.  I think above a size U.S. 14 is considered plus-size no matter what the range upward is.

Q: What has been your favorite photo shoot and why? Other favorite moments as a BBW?

A: I believe one of my favorite photo sets would be my "Malice in Wonderland" set for BBWBUFFET.com (Reenaye Starr's new site), which is a set about being a giantess and growing.  It was just super fun shooting. I get to meet lots of lovely BBW models like myself in person or online.  It's great to chat with other girls in the business.

Q: You've done girl-on-girl photo shoots, if you're comfortable answering, are you bisexual?  Regardless, are you currently in a relationship, and if so, how does your partner feel about your weight/BBW career?

A: I am bisexual.  I am currently in a tri-fecta relationship where I am dating a married couple; it is still new but things are going quite well. They both know I am a BBW model and we met through a BBW forum that I promote my modeling on.

Q: What is your biggest goal?

A: To live a happy life.

Q: Do you have any advice for aspiring BBWs? Or simply for bigger girls in need of a confidence boost?

A: Be yourself and be proud of who you are and what you look like.  Never let anyone take you for granted.

Q: You've had many different hair styles/colors...which has been your favorite?

A: I miss my hair long but I love a good change of hair styles and cuts.  I don't believe I have a favorite but I will be on the lookout for more colors and styles!

Q: Is there anyone you look up to/admire?

Not per say, but I love and respect BBW's who have succeeded in their career.

Q: Do you think world of BBW modeling/feederism will ever make it out of the cyber shadows and become more widely known about/discussed?

A: Maybe one day it will be accepted, but I believe it's still very much a taboo to some.

Q: If you could meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

A: My crush, Channing Tatum, he is super cute!! I love that he can dance and act.
